Course Description
This online training will provide Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Substance Abuse Prevention Program (SAPP) providers and their coalition members with an overview of sobriety checkpoints. Participants will learn about the strategy’s planning and implementation/enforcement considerations, as well as tips for meeting standards. Completion time for this course is approximately 1.5 hours.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- articulate the intent, effectiveness and key components of sobriety checkpoints,
- identify important steps involved in planning and providing support for sobriety checkpoints as outlined by the SAPP Standards for Sobriety Checkpoints, and
- identify important components of strategy implementation/enforcement.
