Facilitating School-Based Programs

This training will allow participants to develop skills to successfully facilitate prevention programs in the school setting. Topics will include: the preventionist's role in the school setting, addressing common discipline issues, working with school administration and teachers as partners in successful programming, creating effective classroom environments, and facilitation techniques for working with youth. Participants will have an opportunity to practice strategies to engage students, gain attention and promote responsible behavior. Participants will also learn about balancing the concepts of fidelity and adaptation as related to these topics.
