Students at Risk: Targeted Violence and Trauma

This 1 day training will examine the dynamics of violent relationships for at-risk students, such as, students with disabilities and students exposed to family violence. Through discussion and activity, participants will enhance their understanding of students with disabilities (intellectual/developmental disabilities, physical or chronic health conditions, and mental illnesses) and learn risk reduction strategies for these students. Additionally, participants will learn about adolescent domestic battery and the relationship to exposure to family violence, current system response and promising practices. The goal of the training is to provide participants with the opportunity to gain information (and insight) to integrate into their prevention efforts and assist them with intervention when appropriate. Priority will be given to PREP grantees.
